SmogCheckDeals.net is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have—all in the context of helping you find smog check stations across California.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep things running smoothly:

• Analytics— understanding how visitors use the site

We work with trusted providers to run the platform:

• Supabase— database and authentication
• Analytics providers— site usage insights

We keep your information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. We may retain certain data longer where required by law or for legitimate business needs like resolving disputes.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. That said, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure—we can't guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

When you choose to get texts about a booking, we handle your mobile number as described below. Each station that texts you also publishes its own text message terms and privacy page.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Some stations show a chat button on their SmogCheckDeals page or their own website. We run that chat for the station, as its service provider, so the station can answer you.

• What we keep: your messages, the replies, and any name, email or phone number you choose to give. Your browser keeps a random code so the chat can pick up where you left off.
• Who sees it:the station and its team, in their inbox. An automated assistant may answer from the station's published details; the chat always labels those replies as AI.
• Texts: we text you only if you confirm your phone with a code. Checking the box for appointment texts lets the station text you about this request and your bookings. Reply STOP to any text to stop.
• A spam check: before the assistant answers, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person.
• Counts, not content: we count chat opens, conversations and bookings. Those counts never include what you wrote or who you are.
• Deleting it: choose Delete chat in the chat menu. Your messages are removed from the chat. A booking you made, and any text permission you gave, are kept as the law and the booking need.

SmogCheckDeals is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If we learn we've collected data from a child under 13, we'll delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the revised version here and update the date at the top. We encourage you to check back periodically.
